Well, for starters, we're not married yet. While the photos above look like we got married in our apartment on a zoom call, it was really just a photoshoot. The fact that Meg had a spare wedding dress in her closet was coincidence...the perks of having friends in fashion (thanks Nadia).
Our original vision for the wedding was to bring together our New York and Texas worlds, to experience a weekend away in upstate New York. The area has played a large role in our relationship. We've spent many years escaping the city with friends and family.
Unfortunately, as you all know, New York has become a "hot spot" for the virus and the phases of reopening have only just begun. We've attempted to weather the storm and put off canceling the wedding, hoping that things would return to normal by August. As we've gotten closer to the date, it's become apparent that having a wedding of this size is no longer possible. In addition, we wouldn't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable nor put anyone at risk, so we've made the hard decision to cancel our formal wedding and have a small ceremony in its place.
We couldn't imagine not celebrating with everyone we love, so we're planning parties in both New York and Texas once restrictions loosen and the risks are no longer an issue. Stay Tuned...
We love you all and look forward to group hugs, shared appetizers, and celebratory drinks.
